Private schools observe bandh today

Hyderabad: Private schools will be shut on Friday in response to a call given by the Telangana Recognised Schools Managements Association (TRSMA), which alleged that private schools were being discriminated against and demanded equal treatment with government schools.

The association said 55 per cent of children in the state went to budget private schools with an average annual fee of Rs 15,000.

Against this, thousands of crores were being allocated of government schools which catered to the remaining 45 per cent students, the association said.
