According to the Ministry of Labor Secretariat, the Brazilian economy generated 70,852 jobs in October 2019, the best figure for the month after 2016. This is the 7th month in a row that more than 6 employees are hired in Brazil.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, All eight sectors analyzed by the Labor Secretariat saw positive growth in employment in the first 10 months of this year, generating the most employment opportunities in the services, manufacturing and construction sectors.
In parallel to the increasing number of jobs, Brazil’s unemployment rate in the three months to September has dropped from 0.2 percent to 11.8 percent, or 12.5 million, compared to the previous quarter. According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, the rate for the first quarter is 12.7 percent.
