Maharashtra: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray took oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister on Thursday. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari took oath at a grand function in Shivaji Park, Mumbai.
Thackeray, 59, is the 18th Chief Minister of the state and third from the Shiv Sena. Earlier, Manohar Joshi and Narayan Rain held the CM position from the party.
The Uddhav Sena-NCP-Congress alliance will head the government, known as ‘Maha Vikas Aghadi’, which was formed 36 days after the announcement of the Assembly election results.
Other leaders in the program are – Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, Kapil Sibal, MK Stalin, Sanjay Raut, MNS leader and cousin Raj Thackeray of Uddhav, among others.
