Blockbuster Sanju’s Director “Rajkumar Hirani” to make two films on cricket?

New Delhi: It seems like filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is going to bring feature films on cricket soon, as he has been approached for not one but two sports based films! After the 2018 hit ‘Sanju’, speculations were being made on what would be the subject of the director’s next outing. Finally, a source informs that he has been approached with two scripts related to the sports game.
While one is with Fox Star Films, the other is with his co-writer Abhijeet Joshi. “Rajkumar Hirani has been approached with two films based on cricket: a Fox Star film, Jeevan se Badi Lala Amarnath biopic written by Piyush Gupta and Neeraj Singh, while another cricket story is also written by Abhijeet Joshi. Rahi, ”the insider revealed.
The 57-year-old, meanwhile, is already working on a web series and some other scripts, according to the source. Film critic Taran Adarsh, also sharing the news on Twitter, wrote that the filmmaker has been approached for ‘two films on cricket’. The filmmaker is widely known for making films like ‘3 Idiots’, ‘PK’, ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’.
His last outing was ° Sanju, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Indian actor Sanjay Dutt and chronicled his latter life. It hit the big screen on June 29 last year. The film also stars Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Jim Sarbh and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.
