NHRC issues notice to Bihar govt over young woman being set ablaze in Muzaffarpur (Bihar)

Muzaffarpur (Bihar): The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued a notice to the Bihar Chief Secretary and DGP on Tuesday demanding their reaction to the incident in which a young woman was allegedly revoked by a neighbor. He was burned after resisting a rape attempt in Ahiyapur. According to a police complaint, the woman was alone in the house December 7 when the accused attempted to abort her.

Dr Sunil Kumar of SKMCH Hospital said that the affected woman, who is in a 50% burns condition, was taken to SKMCH Hospital where she was treated before being shifted to a Patna hospital. She is being treated with government funds, police said. Immediately upon arriving at her mother’s house. The neighbors later informed them of the incident. The victim was taken to the hospital and a complaint was lodged against the accused. Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the accused was arrested.
