New Delhi: Four outsiders were arrested and questioned at JNU’s North Gate in connection with the brutal violence that took place on campus Sunday evening, an official said.
The four men were taken to Vasant Kunj police station for questioning as they fled the campus.
On Sunday evening, several masked intruders raided the JNU campus and the students, mostly left-wing students, raided the streets with sticks, metal rods and rocks. The injured have blamed ABVP workers for the attacks, while ABVP activists on campus have also raised their finger on left-wing students.
Both groups of students went to the Vasant Kunj police station and lodged a complaint with the police against the other group.
Meanwhile, police are awaiting medical legal reports of victims of violence. At least 20 people were taken to hospital due to injuries in violent attacks.
The campus has been fluctuating over this controversial issue for the past few weeks, which gives citizenship to non-Muslim minorities in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
