Hyderabad Telangana State, Traffic Signal Timers will be Soon into Phased Out

Hyderabad: Years on various traffic signals in the city and will be removed in a phased manner soon. Countdown timers were installed at almost all major junctions throughout the city.

According to media reports, the timer has stopped working due to several technical errors and is not being repaired by the authorities. These timers were introduced as part of the Hyderabad Traffic Integrated System to ease the flow of traffic to busy areas of the city.The timers also helped passengers calculate when they had to wait for a signal. Timers also helped passengers save fuel by shutting down engines while waiting for signals.

Talking about additional commissioner traffic, timer maintenance at the junction, Anil Kumar told the Daily that he was in the process of getting new tenders for the current timer and installing new ones wherever necessary. ۔ He added that currently Timer is being cared for by Bharat Electronics, which operates directly under GHMC.

“Their contract is set to expire in February and we will tender for new agencies after the transition. “We will choose a new agency only after they show us their technology,” GHMC told the Daily.
