BJP urges Telangana government to celebrate September 17 officially

The BJP state president Bandi Sanjay on Tuesday urged the State government to celebrate September 17 officially as Telangana Liberation Day.

Speaking at a media conference in Bhongir, Sanjay said it was unfortunate that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was not taking any decision on celebrating September 17 as an official function, “which was hurting the sentiments of the people of Telangana State.”

On rumors doing the rounds that the Chief Minister was planning to form a national political party, he said: “How can people expect a leader who failed to provide effective administration in a State to come up with good administration for the country.” He alleged the Chief Minister had a secret agreement with the MIM party.

He alleged that the State government took up the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) for the legalization of illegal properties of TRS leaders. It has also diluted the land revenue act at the cost of interests of the poor people.
